:: Visualization of Future Capabilties

Project: Future Combat Systems

Client: SAIC

In 2007, SAIC contracted with BreakAway to use mōsbē to visualize certain capabilities developed in support of the Future Combat System (FCS). The FCS is a joint, networked-centered 'system of systems' that is focused to support soldiers and give them unprecedented situational awareness. The FCS puts the solider at the center of an advanced communications and digital information network that connects manned and unmanned ground and aerial vehicles and sensors and munitions.

The goal of this project was to visualize the difference between current processes and capabilities that transportation company commanders use today and the capabilities that they can expect under an FCS system.

mōsbē allowed SAIC to demonstrate the operations deployment for new kinds of sensors and sensor platforms to show how FCS technologies in development would empower and protect company commanders in the future.

The operational level perspective of mōsbē was ideal for this particular application, and the extensible object and asset libraries allowed the inclusion of new sensor types to model new capabilities.
